We are seeking a Quality Lead Hand to join our dynamic team at our Seating Division in Kitchener.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in quality standards Documents.
- Assists in Determining, documenting in-process controls and inspections to meet quality standards.
- Trains and audits staff in required upholstery quality processes, including those related to new products.
- Solves upholstery quality-related issues.
- Assists in proper use and updates of ISO & CAR system.
- Assists final QA inspection.
- Promotes and builds an overall positive attitude towards quality throughout the Cut / Sew & Upholstery departments.
- Assists with special and showroom inspection processes.
- Works with Quality, Upholstery, Foam gluing Team Leaders on ensuring the quality of products, training / retraining needs for staff, recommends disciplinary actions for repeated issues,
- As needed. Maintains a safe working environment for staff in accordance with O.H.S.A.
- Performs all responsibilities/services in accordance with company Quality Assurance procedures.
- Assist in developing, maintaining the Digital Patterns working closely with Pattern Maker & Cut / Sew department Team Leader.
- Performs any other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent, as well as supervisory/leadership training.
- Safety training, including WHMIS.
- Basic computer skills – Word, Outlook, Excel.
- 3 – 5 years quality assurance experience, ideally in Upholstery production environment, as well as past supervisory experience.
- Excellent communication skills – comfortable dealing with all levels of personnel, and facilitating teams.
- Knowledge of manufacturing systems (Shipping labels, id tags, regulatory labels, B.O.M., order tracking, etc.)
