We stretch across Canada, providing exceptional customer service from coast to coast. We recognize that an organization is only as great as its employees, and, for this reason we pride ourselves in providing safe and positive work environments where employees can develop rewarding careers.
As Branch Manager for our successful Red Deer distribution branch, you are an essential member of the Gentek team. You are a self-starter who wants to actively and directly impact the SALES AND OPERATIONS of the business segment you are responsible for. We get that. We like that.
At Gentek, we recognize the effort our employees put in each day to make sure business runs smoothly and our customers are satisfied. For these reasons, we are proud to provide our staff with some fantastic perks. These include, and are certainly not limited to:
- A competitive base salary.
- Straight weekdays, so you get the weekends to yourself to unwind and do the things you love
- An attractive incentive compensation plan that increases as you hit then exceed your sales and targets.
- Competitive benefits package.
- Savings plan with company matched contributions.
- A company vehicle, laptop, and phone.
- An awesome team and a welcoming environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for all areas of branch activity. This includes:
Sales
We are a reliable business partner to our customers and that ensures that we meet sales objectives. You play a vital role in that. You will:
- Drive profitable growth through ensuring current and new customers get everything they need from the partnership including: good products at the right price, and a superior customer service experience.
- Establish, maintain, and deepen partnerships with our customers. The value we provide drives their sales and ours.
- Manage the performance of our 2 outside Sales Reps through regular interaction, collaboration, and coaching.
- Understand your current and potential business. Use analytics to determine sales priorities and activity. Plan your work, work your plan.
Branch Operations
That great customer service experience doesn't happen magically. It requires employees who enjoy what they do – we've got that part. Now we need your leadership to connect all the dots. Your hands-on involvement will ensure it happens. Specifically, you will:
- Make inventory decisions that ensure we have on-hand what our customers need.
- Manage the performance of all branch staff including: Branch Administrator, Inside Sales, Warehouse Supervisor, Shippers/Receivers, Drivers. Embrace this coaching role to provide meaningful and effective feedback.
- Use analytics and your keen understanding of branch operational metrics to optimize branch efficiencies including: inventory, warehouse layout, workflow, labour & headcount.
- Lead, motivate, encourage, and hold accountable each team member.
- Never compromise safety. Every branch activity must be carried out in full compliance with safety regulations and related company policies.
Skills & Valued Behaviours
We require our Branch Managers to set an example for all employees and be visible to customers and vendors by displaying valued behaviours such as: leadership, commitment, industry expertise, reliability, and integrity. Period. Additionally, our employees will be expecting you to solve problems with good judgement. They want you to direct, guide, and coach them as you work as a team to implement new ideas to improve both customer and employee experience. Here are some things you should bring to the table:
- Natural leadership traits.
- A results-oriented disposition that is visible in your motivation to come into work every day, give us your all, and make an impact. You chase and achieve company sales and operations targets and objectives.
- Industry experience. Both knowledge of, and passion for, building products.
- More than likely you have been a Sales Rep at some point in your career before moving into a broader role. Or perhaps you came up through Operations but have a natural inclination to sales.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma.
Gentek is growing, come grow with us If this ad speaks to you and you recognize yourself in the traits and abilities listed, please apply today. We look forward to having you a part of the Gentek team.
