Senior Mechanical Designer

Location: Oakville, ON

Salary Range: $90,000 - $110,000

We're excited to share an opportunity for an existing vacancy as a Senior Mechanical Designer. In this role, you'll have the chance to lead the design and implementation of innovative equipment and systems in an industrial setting. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will contribute to large-scale projects in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

Daily responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Leading the design, development, and implementation of industrial equipment and systems.
  • Creating plant layouts and developing machine concepts and 3D designs
  • Designing system layouts for material handling and integrating vendor-supplied equipment.
  • Selecting purchased equipment based on design criteria and reviewing designs for accuracy.
  • Researching and analyzing technical specifications to meet end-user requirements.
  • Creating and refining process flow diagrams and equipment motor/device lists.
  • Collaborating with customers, vendors, and internal teams to define project scope, requirements, budgets, and schedules.
  • Reviewing designs with fabrication shops to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Providing onsite installation, troubleshooting, commissioning, and maintenance support.
  • Participating in global projects with opportunities for international travel.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and implementation for bulk material handling systems.
  • Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in heavy machinery design, installation, or maintenance.
  • Strong proficiency with AutoCAD , Solidwork or Inventor.
  • Ability to analyze technical specifications and develop innovative design solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with fabrication or commissioning processes.
  • Background in industrial automation or process improvement.
  • Previous experience supporting international projects.
