What you’ll do- Become the key contact for handling firewall, DNS, and VPN (IPsec and GlobalProtect) configurations. The aim is to complete these tasks quickly and securely, with a focus on automation to ensure smooth operations.
- Work closely with product teams to understand their requirements and convert them into secure, practical network solutions. As the main POC for network security questions, you will ensure the success of projects by providing specialized leadership and support.
- Handle user problems by being the initial point of contact when issues emerge concerning fulfillment requests. Your role is to intervene promptly, ensuring they are addressed swiftly and smoothly. Work in tandem with the incident management team to comprehend the issue and coordinate with various teams to find a resolution.
- Following an incident, a root cause analysis will be performed to identify the underlying issues and develop strategies to prevent recurrence. Additionally, post-escalation reviews will be facilitated to evaluate our response to the incident and identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate alongside other engineers, reducing silos, so that we all grow and succeed together. By pairing with others on sophisticated tasks we build a stronger, more capable team.
- Prioritize our network security roadmap items, ensuring alignment with business objectives and managing urgent requests. Your insights provided to leadership will keep us on course and guarantee that we have the resources needed.
- Establish feedback loops with users to ensure our network solutions align with their needs. Through proactive engagement, we can uncover ways to enhance user satisfaction and boost system efficiency.
- 7 to 10 years of a proven track record with Palo Alto Firewalls, routing, and VPN technologies.
- A solid grasp of network security principles, standard methodologies, and experience with Google Cloud Platform would be an added bonus.
- Proficient in network automation tools and scripting languages such as Python and Ansible.
- The ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment without dropping the ball.
- Outstanding interpersonal abilities, particularly in elucidating complex technical concepts to individuals who may not have extensive technological expertise.
- Experience in incident management and RCA, coupled with a keen attention to detail and a problem-solving mentality.
- Having certifications such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), Google Cloud Professional (GCP), or equivalent is helpful.
- Experience in working within an Agile environment and knowledge of network monitoring and management tools, such as SolarWinds, is essential.
- A background in network security consulting or serving as a network security concierge is an added bonus.
