We're looking for a Software architect and a Technical lead to join our Innovation and Software Solutions team at our Montreal office. This crucial role will involve steering the development and integration of innovative software solutions dedicated to the administration of pension plans. You'll work closely with internal teams and clients to transform and drive our pension administration software solutions, leveraging your technical expertise and in-depth understanding of the specifics of this sector.

As a Software architect and a Technical lead, you will be responsible for the technical supervision of projects, providing strategic direction and ensuring that our solutions meet the complex and evolving needs of the pension plan market.

Reporting to the head of Innovation and Software Solutions, the candidate will be required to:

  • Take charge of team projects, by supervising and reviewing the work of software developers.
  • Design and carry out front-end and back-end development of new modules and complex new controls, ensuring that these developments are integrated harmoniously into the existing architecture and follow best programming practices.
  • Provide technical assistance to your colleagues in the software development team, acting as a mentor and advisor for the development of the team's advanced technical skills.
  • Propose and participate in the development of new software designs, by bringing an innovative vision and adopting a proactive approach to continuously improve development processes.
  • Play a key role in strategic decisions related to technology, including the evaluation and adoption of new technologies, tools, and methodologies to keep the team at the forefront of software development.
  • Foster a collaborative and agile work environment, by encouraging open communication, constructive feedback and adaptability in the face of change.
  • Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards in all aspects of software development, and establish practices to maintain this compliance on an ongoing basis.

The candidate must also hold one of the following diplomas and demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor's in IT, engineering, actuarial science, or a related field;
  • At least 10 years of professional experience.
  • Proven experience in managing IT development teams.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps.
  • Solid command of the following languages and software:
  • .NET Framework and .NET Core
  • ASP.NET, MVC, and Blazor
  • Entity Framework
  • SQL Server and T-SQL language
  • HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Angular, Vue.js, React or other framework
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and convincingly.

  • Positive attitude, autonomy and accountability.
  • Proficiency in English and French.
