Position Summary:
As a Principal Product Manager, Devices, you will drive the strategic development, execution, and optimization of Miovision's device platform portfolio, including our Core, Scout, and Opticom product lines. You will be responsible for shaping the long-term vision for hardware systems, aligning technology advancements with business needs, and delivering innovative solutions that meet evolving market demands. This will require you to collaborate effectively with teams across the organization, including hardware, software, cloud, manufacturing, product marketing, and UX. Your leadership will be critical in creating alignment across teams, mentoring product managers, and representing Miovision within industry standards groups. Additionally, you will play a key role in transitioning the team to mature product development practices that are roadmap and strategy driven, with clear milestones and defined outcomes.

Key Accountabilities:
Strategy and Roadmap:
Develop and maintain a forward-thinking device platform strategy that supports market needs, business goals, and technological advancements.
Define and manage a comprehensive three-year roadmap aligned with product line and software platform strategies.
Develop a deep understanding of Miovision's product lines to derive a common set of device capabilities for scalable and cohesive product development.
Platform Development & Optimization:
Collaborate with technical product managers to define and manage platform requirements across hardware and operating system components.
Ensure platform performance meets or exceeds system uptime and performance targets.
Align the device platform portfolio with cost and margin objectives while balancing innovation and efficiency.
Ensure coordinated delivery of hardware, firmware, operating systems, and device applications into product line roadmaps and business strategies.
Collaboration & Leadership:
Identify and drive strategic technology partnerships in collaboration with business development.
Guide and mentor junior product managers, fostering strong product management practices and market-informed requirement development.
Actively participate in industry standards bodies and working groups to promote Miovision's device platform strategy and influence industry trends.

Skills/Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in product management with a focus on hardware and software solutions, preferably within the transportation industry.
Proven experience in senior product roles responsible for flagship products.
Demonstrated ability to research and develop new markets and formulate product strategies.
Product Management Fundamentals:
Strong product fundamentals as demonstrated through experience in customer-facing roles, with a proven ability to translate customer needs into product requirements and solutions.
Experience managing the entire product lifecycle, from ideation and development to launch and end-of-life.
Proven ability to define and manage a comprehensive platform roadmap, prioritizing features and initiatives based on value and feasibility.
Strong analytical skills to track key platform metrics, analyze performance, and identify areas for improvement.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience working in agile environments that interface with waterfall hardware development.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with a wide range of hardware technologies relevant to device platforms, such as sensors, processors, memory, and communication interfaces.
In-depth knowledge of edge computing architectures and technologies, including their application in device platforms for data processing and analysis.
Experience with device management platforms and protocols for remote monitoring, configuration, and firmware updates.
Understanding of IoT security best practices, including device authentication, data encryption, and vulnerability management.
Experience with strategic partnership, ecosystem, and technical product integrations.

Business Acumen:
Experience working with government agencies and navigating the complexities of B2G sales and procurement processes.
Understanding of financial concepts, including margin analysis and unit economics.
Ability to conduct market research, competitive analysis, and identify opportunities for new products and features.
Leadership & Communication:
Strong leadership, communication, and conflict management skills to build consensus with project leaders and stakeholders.
Ability to influence and align cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing, sales) around the device platform vision and roadmap.
Effectively communicate complex concepts in a way that is accessible to diverse stakeholders.
