Job Purpose

Reporting to the Technical Applications Build Manager, the Data Analyst and Report Writer will collaborate with technical, business, ancillary, and clinical teams to support implementation projects and ongoing operations. This role involves designing and building module content, optimizing system performance, and providing data analysis and reporting services.

Additionally, the position supports governance through team working groups and committees while fostering relationships with stakeholders.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Duties:

  • Attend training sessions as required.
  • Participate in the design and planning of data/report deliverables.
  • Collaborate on the standardization of reports and data delivery.
  • Participate in testing, validation, and acceptance events.
  • Attend project meetings and monitor deliverables.

Operational Duties:

  • Intake and triage data requests from stakeholders.
  • Analyze reporting needs and identify datasets for clinical, ancillary, business, and technical areas.
  • Develop, maintain, and support reports, data visualizations, and key performance indicators using SQL, SSRS, and other reporting tools.
  • Act as the primary support contact for reporting tools and data visualization software.
  • Write user documentation and procedures for data analysis and reporting.
  • Troubleshoot reports and SQL statements for quality assurance.
  • Conceptualize and develop business intelligence reports for trend analysis and benchmarking.
  • Ensure compliance with customer service standards, privacy regulations, and security policies.
  • Participate in governance workgroups and committees focused on data management.

Qualifications

Education & Certifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • ITIL, project management, or change management certification is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license is considered an asset (for occasional travel).

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in IT, Clinical Informatics, or Data Management/Analysis, preferably in healthcare.
  • Experience with SQL, Microsoft SQL Management Studio, SSRS, and Meditech Report Writer is preferred.
  • Project and change management experience are assets.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong report writing, research, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in database management and data manipulation.
  • Ability to work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare systems, privacy, and confidentiality regulations.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and reporting tools.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to present data-driven insights.
  • Flexibility to address urgent issues outside of regular business hours.

Working Conditions

  • Remote work environment (37.5 hours per week).
  • Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
  • Participation in an on-call schedule.
  • Occasional travel as needed.
