Title: Stock Loan Settlements Analyst

Location: New York City, Chicago, Milwaukee or Toronto

Contract Duration: 12 -18 months (may have the potential for extension or conversion)

Job Summary:

The Stock Loan Settlements Analyst is responsible for managing the settlement process for stock loan transactions. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely settlement of securities lending transactions, reconciling discrepancies, and liaising with various stakeholders to resolve issues. The analyst plays a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of the stock loan process and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Processing:
  • Oversee the processing and settlement of stock loan transactions, including borrowing and lending of securities.
  • Ensure accurate and timely settlement of trades in accordance with market conventions and internal policies.
  • Reconciliation and Reporting:
  • Perform daily reconciliation of stock loan positions, identifying and resolving discrepancies between internal records and external counterparties.
  • Prepare and review reports related to stock loan settlements, including exception reports and regulatory filings.
  • Stakeholder Coordination:
  • Liaise with internal teams (e.g., trading, risk management, compliance) and external parties (e.g., custodians, brokers) to resolve settlement issues and discrepancies.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and counterparties to address inquiries and ensure smooth transaction processing.
  • Compliance and Risk Management:
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls related to stock loan transactions.
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks associated with stock loan settlements.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Analyze current settlement processes and identify opportunities for improvements and efficiencies.
  • Implement and manage process enhancements and technology solutions to streamline operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 2-4 years of experience in securities lending, settlement operations, or a related financial services role.
  • Familiarity with stock loan markets, securities processing, and financial regulations.
  • Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial systems and software (e.g., Bloomberg, Eagle, Excel).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
