Akkodis is partnered with a global leading fast-food restaurant chain to recruit a Hands-on Cloud Infrastructure Architect to join their Canadian Technology team here in Toronto.


As a Cloud Infrastructure Architect, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will be responsible for leading the architecture and design for the cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, reliability and security. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the transformation of the technology landscape and drive innovation across the business.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical leader and aid in the integration of industry and global company requirements into local plans.
  • Lead the design and implementation of cloud-based infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Define architecture principles, standards, and guidelines for the proper use of cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable cloud solutions.
  • Architect highly available and resilient cloud architectures utilizing container-based technologies and microservices.
  • Evaluate and recommend new cloud technologies and tools to improve efficiency and drive innovation.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices in cloud infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure architecture, with a focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Strong expertise in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions.
  • Proficiency in container-based technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker) and microservices architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native development and deployment.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles and best practices.
  • Experience in a 24x7 support enterprise based environment is a plus.
  • Knowledge and expertise in a hyper-converged infrastructure would be an asset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Google Cloud certification(s) (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Associate Cloud Engineer) would be an asset.
