Manager, Marketing and Communications (B2B)

Employment Type: Full Time, Hybrid (Expectation to be on site 20% of time)

Location: Mississauga, ON

Compensation Range: $70k - $80k


Flash Forest is an innovative environmental technology company tackling climate change. We specialize in large-scale reforestation efforts using cutting-edge drone technology. We are seeking a highly motivated, organized and experienced Marketing and Communications Manager to join our team. In this exciting role, you will be responsible for developing and executing multi-channel marketing and communication campaigns to drive engagement, generate leads and build strong brand reputation.


Your Contribution, Role and Responsibility


  • Lead the development and execution of new and innovative marketing strategies to drive brand growth and revenue generation.
  • Create targeted content with creative flair and through a scientific lens. This includes the design, copy, and composition of blog posts, social media, email campaigns, and other marketing collateral (including print materials).
  • Understand the internal and external landscape to position Flash Forest as an authority and thought leader in Drone Reforestation.  
  • Understand our target audience and develop digital content accordingly.
  • Drive website traffic through content creation and SEO for inbound lead generation. 
  • Manage the strategy, design, execution and tracking of lead gen campaigns.
  • Work in collaboration with our clients/ external partners to bring co-branded digital marketing campaigns to life through social media/PR.
  • Develop the brand voice as we mature and evolve as a company.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics (KPIs). Communicate key data points, insights and learnings and adapt strategy accordingly.
  • Actively engage with the complexity of reforestation, nature based solutions and the carbon market. Remain up to date with current trends and apply your learnings directly to your work.
  • Leverage organic PR to build our brand and increase organic PR opportunities. Manage press release coordination including drafting, media pitching, and interview coordination.
  • Create physical and digital Marketing collateral for internal and external use eg. slide decks/pamphlets/merch 
  • Manage all aspects of website design and management. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand all aspects of the business, ensure brand alignment and consistency in messaging. 
  • Allocate website inbound leads. Monitor the quality and lead source, continually improving our strategy. 
  • Coordinate the booking of production teams (photographers, videographers, etc.) during field ops season. Coordinate asset delivery to external partners. 


Competencies and Qualifications


  • Five (5+) years of experience working in B2B/B2C/ digital Marketing. Experience in a commercial start-up or scale-up environment is an asset.
  • College or University level diploma/degree in Communications, Advertising and Marketing is an asset. Other qualifications will also be considered. 
  • You are an independent and proactive, self-starter who brings Marketing knowledge and expertise to the team. 
  • You are strategic and have a critical eye. You can quickly assimilate complex information. 
  • You are analytical and use data to spot trends and inform Marketing related decisions.
  • You have outstanding communication skills and internal/external stakeholder management comes naturally to you.
  • You enjoy producing high-quality copy and have the ability to turn complex concepts into digestible visuals/text.
  • You have experience working in fast-paced environments with ambitious goals. You are resilient, adaptable and know how to work under pressure. 
  • You are emotionally intelligent, a strong relationship builder and a team player.
  • You have leadership skills, take initiative and are able to work independently.
  • You have experience managing social media platforms (LinkedIn, Tik Tok Facebook, Instagram, X)
  • You have experience in graphic design, including the following programs: Adobe Creative Suite, Canva). Experience in photoshop and video editing is a plus. 
  • Experience working in reforestation, nature based solutions and carbon markets is a plus. 
  • Bilingualism, or french language skills will be considered an asset in this role.
