Job Description:
TRC Animal Nutrition is seeking a motivated and experienced Animal Nutrition / Agriculture Sales Representative to join our team. This role is crucial for driving sales growth by managing existing accounts and generating new leads in a growth-focused territory. The successful candidate will focus on selling base ingredients (amino acids) and specialty products, serving clients across Manitoba and Saskatchewan (potentially extending into Alberta and BC). If you have a passion for sales, a deep knowledge of animal nutrition or agriculture, and thrive in a dynamic environment, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
Sales & Account Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with feed mills, premix manufacturers, end users, and potential fertilizer industry clients.
Prospecting & Lead Generation:
- Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the territory.
- Expand the customer base by generating new leads and converting them into long-term clients.
Product Knowledge:
- Provide in-depth technical knowledge and support on base ingredients and specialty products to clients.
Travel:
- Regularly travel within Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and potentially Alberta, and BC to meet clients and attend industry events.
Market Analysis:
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Sales Reporting:
- Prepare and present sales reports, forecasts, and strategy recommendations to management.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Degree or diploma in Business, Animal Nutrition, Agriculture, Agronomy, or a related field is preferred. Practical experience will be weighed equally.
Experience:
- Proven experience in sales, particularly in the animal nutrition or agriculture sector.
- Familiarity with selling to feed mills, premix manufacturers, and fertilizer industry customers is an asset.
Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain client relationships effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Travel:
- Based out of Saskatchewan or Manitoba
- Willingness to travel extensively within the designated territory.
- Clean driving record with a valid G class driver’s license
