Our client, a leader in the transportation industry is currently searching for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their team. This is an onsite role in Mississauga with some flexibility. The position will report into the HR Manager/Director


Responsibilities:

  • Full cycle national recruitment: this includes but is not limited to job postings, resume screening, phone/video screens, interview scheduling and participation, background checks, and references.
  • Work in partnership with hiring managers and the Human Resources Manager to clarify job descriptions.
  • Investigate new methods of recruiting to generate candidates through social media and other creative methods of recruitment.
  • Ensure our branding on job boards is up to date and our reviews on Indeed and Google are maintained.
  • Develop and source a pipeline of job boards that can be used in each province and determine value and
  • Actively utilize Breezy as our recruitment tool. Train and coach hiring managers on the recruitment process in Breezy.
  • Work in partnership with the hiring managers through the recruitment cycle; ensures an efficient and effective hiring process is being followed.
  • Attract and qualify candidates for immediate and future needs using all methods of attraction.This includes creating connections and actively recruiting at the High School or College level before the candidate graduates.
  • Work with Marketing to build and implement an effective employee branding strategy and method to drive talent acquisition.
  • Work with HR Team to prepare and obtain offer details and extend to potential candidates.
  • Research and develop external candidate pipeline strategies for future roles.
  • Consult on talent acquisition activities, best practices, candidates sourcing and recruitment strategies that support the goals of the business.
  • Participates in the generating recruitment metrics as required for the leadership team. Ensure our time fill metrics are accurate in Breezy.
  • Regularly review our recruitment dashboards.
  • Other related tasks and duties as assigned.
  • Project work as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in HR with a minimum of 2-4 year’s work experience, preferable in Transportation and/or Logistics. CHRP an asset
  • Bilingual in French as asset
  • Experience working with Breezy.
  • Demonstrate a high sense of urgency, self-management, ability to establish priorities, and work in both independent/team environments.
  • An excellent communicator and problem solver
  • Persistent, energetic and results driven.
  • Advanced Excel skills. Intermediate PowerPoint and MS Word skills
  • Self-motivated with a high degree of organizational and planning skills
