IAM ANALYST



The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Analyst is responsible for managing, maintaining, and improving identity and access control systems across the organization. This role ensures that employees, contractors, and external users have appropriate access to systems and data, aligning with organizational policies and regulatory compliance. The IAM Analyst will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security protocols, troubleshoot access issues, and contribute to the overall cybersecurity strategy.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Access Management:
  • Implement and enforce access controls, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Provision, deprovision, and modify user access rights in line with role-based access controls (RBAC).
  • Monitor access logs and resolve escalated issues related to access management.
  1. System Administration:
  • Maintain and manage IAM systems, such as Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), and directory services (e.g., Active Directory, Azure AD).
  • Ensure integration of IAM tools with other IT systems and platforms.
  1. Security Compliance and Governance:
  • Conduct regular audits to verify user access rights and address any discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX, HIPAA).
  • Develop and maintain documentation for IAM processes, standards, and guidelines.
  1. Incident Management:
  • Investigate and resolve IAM-related security incidents in collaboration with the cybersecurity team.
  • Perform root cause analysis and recommend preventive measures for recurring issues.
  1. Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to automate IAM workflows and reduce manual efforts.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new IAM tools and technologies.
  1. Collaboration:
  • Work with IT, HR, and business teams to manage onboarding, offboarding, and role changes.
  • Provide end-user support and training for IAM tools and practices.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-3+ years of experience in Identity and Access Management or related IT security roles.



Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in IAM platforms such as SailPoint, Okta, Ping Identity, or ForgeRock.
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory, LDAP, and cloud IAM (e.g., Azure AD, AWS IAM, Google Workspace).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automation.
  • Knowledge of security protocols such as SAML, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in team environments.


Key Metrics for Success

  • Timely resolution of access-related tickets and incidents.
  • Accuracy in provisioning and deprovisioning users.
  • Compliance audit scores related to identity and access management.
  • Successful implementation of IAM process improvements and automation.
