Robert Half is partnered with our client in their search for a Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to join their team. This role will be responsible for leading the financial planning and analysis function, providing critical insights and strategic guidance to senior management, and driving financial decision-making processes within the organization. This role will have both direct and indirect reports under their mandate.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process, including coordination with departmental heads to develop detailed budgets and forecasts. Continuously monitor financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis and explanations to senior management.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic initiatives and decision-making. Develop financial models to evaluate business opportunities, assess investment proposals, and analyze the financial impact of various scenarios.
  • Prepare and distribute timely and accurate financial reports to senior management, highlighting key performance metrics, trends, and insights. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between financial reporting and operational objectives.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to departmental leaders, providing financial insights and recommendations to support operational effectiveness and efficiency. Work closely with business units to identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimization, and margin improvement.
  • Develop rolling forecasts and scenario analyses to assess potential risks and opportunities to the business. Partner with business leaders to develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans to address identified risks.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to support their growth and career advancement within the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is an asset.
  • CPA designation.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership role overseeing financial planning and analysis functions.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team to achieve high performance and results.
  • Strategic mindset with a focus on driving continuous improvement and innovation in financial processes and systems.
