Our objective is to continue Pieridae’s pivot toward growing a sustainable and profitable conventional Foothills oil and natural gas business while continuing to explore opportunities to diversify market access for the products we produce.

 

Position Summary:


As a Junior Exploitation and Reserves Engineer at Pieridae, you will have the opportunity to be a key player in a dynamic team of professionals focused on maximizing the value of our assets in the WCSB. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplinary team to complete technical and economic analyses, apply excellent data and time management skills, and demonstrate exceptional communication and collaboration skills to meet corporate goals and deadlines.

 

Key Responsibilities:


Reserves engineering responsibilities: 

·       Reserves reporting responsibilities (reporting to the Reserves Manager):

·       Liaise with internal technical staff and external reserves auditors to complete corporate reserves tasks

·       Analyze and summarize reserves well and property historical data and provide recommendations

·       Review reserves reports, coordinate and track adjustments and results

·       Create reserves presentations for upper management 

·       Provide support to finance for corporate filings 

·       Complete reserves tasks on time and budget, while adhering to NI 51-101 and COGEH guidelines


Exploitation (development) engineering responsibilities:

·       Economic evaluation of single well drilling opportunities and multi-well programs

·       Integrate appropriate type curves, price decks, and drill timing into executable drill programs

·       Collaborate with area engineers to optimize drilling plans with existing infrastructure and gathering systems 

·       Provide reservoir engineering support for geoscientists or act as company liaison to third party reservoir engineering firms

·       Collaborate with Commercial Engineering Department to evaluate A&D opportunities and optimize synergies between midstream assets and drilling opportunities.

·       Key team member for technical reviews and management approval meetings


Education and Work Experience:

·       Minimum 3 years of petroleum engineering related experience 

·       Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or equivalent discipline 

·       APEGA Professional Engineer or E.I.T. designation

·       Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively work with cross functional teams and engage others to support projects and initiatives

·       Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·       Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously

·       Proficiency in petroleum engineering software such as Value Navigator, GeoScout, and Microsoft Suites is advantageous

·       Working knowledge in reserve booking and economic evaluation is an asset

·       Experience in production and/or reservoir engineering is beneficial
