Our client is seeking a high-performing, experienced financial leader who can play a pivotal part in driving their financial strategy to empower them through growth and keep them positioned for continued success. The CFO/Finance Manager will have an ongoing impact on company operations and business planning, helping them to analyze, strategize and grow the company’s financial position. This digitally-savvy CA/CPA designated financial strategist will not only understand current accounting practices and trends but will also have extensive ERP experience and knowledge within a manufacturing and distribution environment.


Established in 1975 and based in Kamloops, BC, our client is a growing and progressive global leader in manufacturing, maintenance, repair and distribution of Lycoming and Continental piston engines, parts and consumables for the commercial and civil aviation industry. Through their group of companies, they are 1 of only 7 licensed Lycoming OEM distributors in the world; they hold Transport Canada AMO certification, provide AOG services; they design and build custom aircraft engines and high-performance experimental aircraft engines; as well as provide build your own aircraft engine programs through their Build school.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Financial Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction to the accounting team, driving financial performance and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Cash Management: Optimize cash flow management to maintain financial stability and liquidity. Manage banking, investment and credit relationships.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic financial plans and forecasting to guide the company's long-term success.
  • Analytical Expertise: Utilize advanced analytical skills to interpret financial data and guide informed decision-making for capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations.
  • Budgeting & Reporting: Coordinate development of annual operating, capital and programs budgets as well as reporting for the same.
  • FX Accounting & Risk Management: Manage foreign exchange accounting and mitigate financial risks to protect company assets.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), ASPE, and/or IFRS standards in financial reporting. Coordinate provision of information to external auditors annually.
  • Continuous Improvements: Develop and implement best practices and tools to ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization that has strong fiscal management, project coordination, cross-team communications and workflows.
  • HR/Payroll Oversight: Oversee HR and payroll functions to ensure compliance, efficiency and regulatory requirements.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field with CA/CPA designation.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial leadership roles, preferably within manufacturing and/or aviation industries.
  • Must have at least 2 years of Canadian-based accounting/finance experience.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, MS 365 and advanced Excel skills. Experience with Component Control ERP is a significant asset.
  • Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues and tax planning.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, accuracy, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven track record of providing leadership and direction to accounting teams, driving performance and fostering a culture of excellence.


WHAT OUR CLIENT OFFERS

●      Salary range: $120k - $150k depending on experience

●      REMOTE from within Canada is an option (travel to and attendance in Kamloops office will be required every 4 to 6 weeks for in-person meetings)

●      Relocation allowance will be provided for permanent relocation to Kamloops
