We are looking for a progressive and enthusiastic individual to fill a key position in our finance organization. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting this temporary 12 month term role will assist with fulfilling all aspects of the accounting and reporting processes as they relate to the company's capital projects and assets. Working collaboratively with internal business groups, this position provides a unique opportunity for building relationships throughout the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Account for capital assets including assessment of capital treatment, asset retirement obligations, additions, disposals and depreciation;
  • Manage the AFE process;
  • Maintain compliance with the Company's policies and procedures regarding fixed assets;
  • Ensure processes adhere to the Company's Sarbanes Oxley requirements;
  • Develop and maintain reports on the Company's capital expenditures;
  • Provide research assistance for information requests from other departments and external auditors;
  • Knowledge of US GAAP regarding capital accounting and related public disclosure;

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline;
  • A professional accounting designation;
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry;
  • Ability to complete tasks and responsibilities within established deadlines;
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail;
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills;
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Power BI);
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX and Oracle Fusion cloud and/or an ERP system implementation project would be considered an asset; and
  • Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks.
