Job Description for DevOps Engineer


About our Client: Our client is a forward-thinking organization specializing in technology solutions that empower businesses across various industries. They are committed to innovation and excellence, focusing on developing advanced technology platforms that enable efficient data management and operational processes.


About the Role: As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the performance and reliability of our client's cloud-based platforms. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring workloads, logging activities, and managing performance across systems to ensure optimal operation.
  • Handling incident management, triage, and coordinating disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Overseeing patching, vulnerability management, and support activities for AWS and other enterprise data platform (EDP) environments.
  • Providing support and consultation on infrastructure, cost management, security, data strategy, integration, and pipeline projects.


Requirements: To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • At least 5 years of experience in cloud environments, specifically with AWS (including S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, VPC, and AWS Backup).
  • 1-2 years of experience with Snowflake or Databricks is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with data science, data engineering, and AI engineering concepts.
  • Proficiency in CI/CD and automation tools such as Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub, Dynatrace, and Prisma Cloud.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills.


Preferred Technologies:

  • Core: AWS (S3, Lambda, IAM, CloudWatch, Security Hub, VPC), Terraform, GitHub Actions.
  • Desirable: Snowflake, Prisma Cloud, Dynatrace.


Other Requirements:

  • Bilingual capabilities are an asset.
  • Relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Snowflake, Databricks) are preferred.


Location: This position is available in Toronto, ON, Montreal, QC and Calgary, AB.


Term: 6 months renewable contract.


Work Mode: Hybrid work arrangement, requiring presence in the office twice a week.
