As a Purchasing Coordinator at Ophardt Hygiene, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials and services essential for our operations. You will be responsible for coordinating purchasing activities, maintaining vendor relationships, and optimizing procurement processes to support the company's objectives.

Job Role & Responsibilities

Procurement

  • Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, reliability, and service.
  • Generate purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Implement strategies to optimize procurement processes and reduce costs while maintaining quality standards.


Inventory Management

  • Maintain desired/ optimal inventory levels to meet demand.
  • Monitor stock levels and reorder points.


Demand Planning

  • Work closely with departments such as production, logistics, and finance to coordinate. procurement activities and support overall business objectives for both existing and new product lines and projects.
  • Analyze historical sales, data and market trends.
  • Develop and communicate accurate demand forecasts and cost summaries.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for management review, highlighting key performance metrics and areas for optimization.


Supplier Relationship Management

  • Grow and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
  • Resolve issues with suppliers and address performance concerns.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure that purchased products meet standards and specifications.
  • Conduct regular quality audits of suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual agreements.


Continuous Improvement

  • Identify, develop, and implement cost saving initiatives.
  • Analyze purchasing trends, pricing, and market conditions to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and achieve operational excellence.


Qualifications/ Skills:

  • Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Excel, and experience with procurement software or ERP/MRP systems is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization.
