Materials Planning Specialist

The Materials Planning Specialist is an integral part of the planning team, responsible for ensuring availability of the right materials at the right time in the right quantity. This tactical position requires deep cross functional integration with the Valleyfield site, optimizing inventory control processes, including cycle counting, goods receiving, supplier returns, annual stock take, etc. by leveraging Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) tools in SAP and OMP. The successful candidate balances cash, service, and risk continuously. Key stakeholders include scheduling, supply planning, bottling operations, warehouse, procurement, and suppliers. Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and exceptional information analysis skills are a necessity. The Materials Planning Specialist is based at the Valleyfield site and reports to the Materials Scheduling Manager, located in Plainfield, IL.
Primary Responsibilities:
● Analyze and adjust the Materials Requirements Plan to firm orders with suppliers
● Meticulously optimize and maintain planning parameters for packaging components, including lead times, safety stock, minimum order quantities, scrap rates and more
● Actively coordinate with the site scheduler to ensure the materials plan and the bottling plan are in balance
● Partner with procurement team to monitor supplier performance (Material Availability / OTIF)
● Participate in suppler business performance reviews
● Build strong relationships with suppliers, operations, procurement, quality, and other stakeholders
● Generate, maintain, and report a set of metrics that demonstrate efficient and effective management of resources
● Lead material phase outs, minimizing material obsolescence waste
● Develop and lead continuous improvement projects, with a focus on supply chain and efficiency and waste reduction
● Support strategic projects as a key participant
● Other duties as assigned
Skills:
● Fluency in French and English required
● APICS CPIM certification desirable
● SAP, OMP, or similar ERP software experience required
● Strong analytical skills required
● Must be highly skilled in MS Excel and Outlook
● MS Visio, Access, and PowerBI experience desirable
● Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles. Six Sigma certification is a plus
● Demonstrated ability to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
● Seeks innovative solutions for the supply chain through a deep understanding of how the business operates. Champions new ideas and is not afraid to fail
Education:
● Associate degree is required; bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related discipline is preferred

Principales responsabilités:
● Analyser et ajuster le Plan des besoins en matériaux pour confirmer les commandes auprès des fournisseurs;
● Optimiser et maintenir les paramètres de planification pour les composants d'emballage, y compris les délais de livraison, le stock de sécurité, les quantités minimales de commande, les taux de rebut et plus encore;
● Coordonner les besoins de matériaux avec le planificateur du site pour s'assurer que le plan matériel et le plan d'embouteillage sont équilibrés;
● Collaborer avec l'équipe d'approvisionnement pour évaluer la performance des fournisseurs (Disponibilité des Matières / OTIF);
● Participer aux revues de performance commerciale avec les fournisseurs;
● Établir des relations solides avec les fournisseurs, opérations, achats, qualité et autres parties prenantes;
● Générer, maintenir et rapporter un ensemble d'indicateurs démontrant une gestion efficace et efficiente des ressources;
● Assurer une gestion des rebus du matériel afin de minimiser le gaspillage dû à l'obsolescence du matériel;
● Développer et diriger des projets d'amélioration continue axés sur la chaîne d'approvisionnement ainsi que sur l'efficacité et la réduction du gaspillage;
● Soutenir les projets stratégiques comme participant clé;
● Toutes autres tâches assignées.
Qualifications et expériences requises:
● Diplôme universitaire dans une discipline liée à la chaîne d'approvisionnement (un atout)
● Expérience dans un rôle de planification ou d'achat au sein d'un environnement manufacturier dynamique
● Certification APICS CPIM (un atout)
● Expérience avec SAP, OMP ou un logiciel ERP similaire
● Maîtrise du français et de l'anglais afin de pouvoir communiquer avec différents intervenants et fournisseurs à l’extérieur du Québec (plus de 60% du temps)
● Compétences analytiques fortes requises
● Connaissances intermédiaires de la suite Microsoft Office
● Expérience avec MS Visio, Access et PowerBI (un atout)
● Connaissance des principes « Lean Manufacturing ». La certification Six Sigma est un atout.
● Capacité démontrée à prioriser efficacement dans un environnement dynamique rapide
● Recherche constamment des solutions d’améliorations continues pour la chaîne d'approvisionnement grâce à une connaissance du domaine manufacturier.
