Job Profile: The Bilingual (French & English) People & Culture Generalist contributes to Multy Home’s success by supporting the effective delivery of Human Resources programs and services to employees. This position reports to the People & Culture Manager and is expected to support and execute HR functions, programs, maintain HR policies, procedures and administrative support at our Quebec location.
Essential Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Recruitment:
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selecting candidates.
- Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Specialist with strategies to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
Employee Relations and Engagement:
- Provide guidance, support & recommendations on employee concerns regarding policies, employee relations matters, conflict resolution, escalation procedures & investigations.
- Assist with employee engagement initiatives, e.g. service reward, recognition programs & social committees to foster a positive work culture and enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
HR Expertise & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of changes and proactively adapting HR practices accordingly.
- Assist People & Culture Manager with the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs that align with legal requirements and best practices.
- Support People & Culture elements, including employee onboarding, offboarding and employee record management.
- Assist management in company compliance & social audits
Environment, Health and Safety:
- Collaborate with management with leave of absence management, return to work programs & job accommodations according to best practices and provincial regulations
- Act as liaison and provide guidance for all Joint Health and Safety Committees on activities such as meetings, training, inspections, etc.
- Participate in the investigation of accidents/incidents to determine cause, develop and implement corrective and preventative measures.
- Reporting incidents to CNESST when required
- Collaborate with People & Culture Manager & site management to implement environmental programs
Training and Development:
- Support training and development needs and deliver relevant training programs via LMS
- Coordinate training sessions, professional development opportunities, and track employee progress via Learning Management Systems
Other Responsibilities:
- Translation of HR documents and communications into French.
- Supporting organizational development and change management initiatives.
- Performs any other reasonable assignments given by the People & Culture Manager or their designates.
Education and/or Experience:
- 5+ years of HR experience across multiple HR disciplines (e.g., recruitment, employee relations)
- Full Bilingualism (English and French) is required
- Post-secondary graduate: preferably in Human Resources Management or Business Administration
- Proven relationship-building, interpersonal & conflict resolution skills
- Analytical skills and attention to detail with the ability to use data to make decisions and solve problems
- Ability to work well within time constraints, prioritize tasks and adapt effectively in a high-demand, fast-paced, and adjusting environment
