Liberty Development Corporation, located in Markham, is a leading Real Estate Developer of high-density mixed use development projects across the Greater Toronto Area. We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Development Team.


Role and Responsibilities:

As a Land Development Planner / Project Coordinator working along with the Senior Management Team and Project Managers, you will be required to carry out various tasks including the following:


Job Duties:


  • Undertake research and analysis on planning policy, legislation, development standards and application requirements
  • Due diligence on land use planning policy frameworks for land acquisition
  • Participate in concept design on new projects
  • Invite proposals and assist in engagement of consultant teams
  • Coordinate the work of consultants
  • Submission of complete applications for development approvals
  • Coordinate responses to agency comments, and clear conditions for final approval
  • Meet with public officials on development plans and proposals
  • Communicate with the public and stakeholders
  • Participate at public consultation meetings and workshops
  • Attendance and participation in Planning Act hearings including the Committee of Adjustment and the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal
  • Assist in all stages of project planning, approvals, marketing and implementation
  • Attend Committee and Council meetings, as required


Qualifications:


The ideal candidate has the following:


  • University Degree in Planning, Urban Design, Architecture or a related field. A degree in Urban Planning is preferred
  • 1-3 years of related professional experience
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Excellent written and oral skills
  • Highly efficient and effective in working in an individual or team environment
  • Ability to handle a high level of responsibility in a fast-paced environment
  • Time management skills and ability to prioritize responsibilities
