We are seeking an experienced Millwright to join our client’s team in Winnipeg.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and manufacturing equipment; maintaining and repairing pneumatic and PLC controlled equipment and components; completing planned and unplanned work order requests on time; maintaining a safe and clean work environment by complying with all company policies and procedures, safety rules, and chemical regulations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

The ideal candidate(s) will have a strong technical background as a millwright repairing pumps, conveyor belts, machines controlled by PLCs and doing preventive maintenance on production lines.


Who you are

  • You have a minimum of 3 years experience handling troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of material handling and packaging equipment and machines.
  • You have a red Seal certification as a Millwright or working towards it
  • You have extensive mechanical knowledge of machines controlled by robotic systems.
  • You have experience working on machines with electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • You have some welding experience.
  • You can interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints
  • You follow all safety procedures and guidelines for maintenance and repair work
  • You can sit and kneel for extended periods, and you can also work outside during repairs and for preventive maintenance requirements.
  • You can operate a forklift.
  • You possess strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • You possess effective communication and organizational skills
  • You can lift and carry heavy equipment and parts weighing up to 50 pounds.


What you do

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain mechanical, pneumatic, and programmable logic control systems and modify, repair, or replace parts of machinery as required to maintain production capacity
  • Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions, and modify, repair, or replace parts of machinery to maintain production uptime
  • Troubleshooting/repairing/installation of processing equipment with a working knowledge of electrical to allow efficient repair and maintenance of equipment
  • Optimize all equipment focusing on safety, efficiency, and reliability
  • Completion on all planned and unplanned work or repairs and adherence to PM schedules
  • Participates and promotes continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain and work in a clean safe manner in accordance with legislated and company health and safety standards, and contribute to the company’s safety culture while following company’s safety standards
  • Clean, inspect, and lubricate machine parts as needed and determine future maintenance requirements/needs
  • Assist with project and shutdown scheduling
