Role: Business Analyst (BA) Practice Lead

Contract Duration: 9 months, renewable

Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Toronto Head Office (5%)

Rate: Negotiable


Our client is a Global Humanitarian Organization, in search of an experienced and strategic Business Analysis Practice Lead to join their team. The ideal candidate will lead their business analysis function, ensuring that business analysis is effectively conducted to improve processes, support decision-making, and drive successful project outcomes. This role demands deep business analysis expertise, leadership, strategic thinking, collaboration, and a focus on continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities


1. Business Analysis Strategy

  • Define and implement the business analysis strategy, aligning it with the organization’s goals and objectives.
  • Develop and maintain standards, methodologies, and best practices for business analysis.


2. Leadership and Oversight

  • Lead and oversee the business analysis work across multiple workstreams to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration by integrating business analysis activities across workstreams.


3. Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve business analysis practices and outcomes.


4. Team Development

  • Ensure continuous development and skill enhancement of the business analysis team.
  • Mentor business analysts and provide guidance and support to help remove obstacles or resolve complex issues.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex problems that require deep business analysis expertise.


5. Reporting and Performance

  • Report on the performance and impact of business analysis activities to senior leadership.
  • Monitor and measure the effectiveness of business analysis activities and their contribution to the organization.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in business analysis, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing business analysis strategies and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and methodologies.
  • Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple workstreams and departments.
  • Proficiency in business analysis tools and software.


Preferred Skills

  • Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, CCBA) or related field.
  • Experience in Agile or other iterative development methodologies.
  • Familiarity with project management and process improvement frameworks.
