Job Title: General Manager
Overview: As the General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our office and business, ensuring smooth processes, excellent client relations, and adherence to industry standards. We're seeking a dynamic individual with a strategic mindset, exceptional leadership qualities, and a passion for the transportation industry.
Responsibilities:
- Daily Operations: Oversee the smooth functioning of the office and business operations daily, ensuring efficiency and productivity.
- Strategic Support: Provide strategic support by identifying areas for process improvements, streamlining operations, and spearheading special projects to drive business growth.
- Financial Oversight: Manage budgeting and expenses, ensuring financial stability and profitability of the business.
- HR Functions: Serve as a point of contact for employee relations, address benefit inquiries, manage vacation schedules, and handle absences.
- Client Communications: Engage with clients to address inquiries, provide updates, and ensure exceptional service delivery. Act as a backup support for the sales team when needed.
- Customer Service: Maintain positive relationships with clients, carriers, and vendors by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and providing timely updates on shipments.
- Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on industry regulations and compliance standards related to freight transportation, ensuring adherence to legal requirements.
- Problem Solving: Address operational challenges promptly, such as delays, or logistical obstacles, and implement effective solutions to minimize disruptions.
- Logistics Coordination: Assist in coordinating transportation services, scheduling shipments, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Technology Proficiency: Utilize MS Office Suite and dispatch software effectively to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
Must-Haves:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an office management, operations, or general manager capacity.
- Prior experience within the transportation industry is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial literacy.
- Proactive attitude, team player, and a collaborative mindset.
