Company Overview

Our client, a prominent global engineering consulting firm, is seeking a skilled Structural Marine Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is available in both Vancouver and Quebec offices and offers a hybrid work mode, allowing for a flexible blend of remote and in-office work.



Responsibilities


  • Liaise with Clients on existing projects and pursuing new project opportunities;
  • Provide leadership and direction to Junior Engineers and/or Technicians and maintaining good working relationships with internal project support groups;
  • Work collaboratively to assist other project team members, and to incorporate input from other parts of the business on multi-disciplinary projects;
  • Analyze and design of marine structures including Concrete caisson wharf, Open Berth structures, berthing and mooring dolphins, access trestles, jetties, sheet pile bulkhead wharf, walls and wood cribs wharf;
  • Preparation of technical specifications and tender documents for ports and marine work packages;
  • Development of conceptual options, preliminary designs, engineering sketches to support feasibility studies and condition assessment and load rating analysis of existing structures;
  • Coordinate drawing development with other technical staff, completing drawing reviews and Preparation of written deliverables such as reports and technical notes;
  • Review project documentation to check clarity, accuracy, consistency in presentation, and compliance with project specifications and applicable standards;
  • Manage project scope, schedule, finances, and undertaking site inspections for existing structures and current construction projects.


Qualifications


  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution;
  • Is registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with EGBC or IOQ
  • Has a minimum of 14 years’ experience in design of marine infrastructure;
  • Is familiar with marine design codes, standards, and structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000 or similar;
  • Has a functional understanding of typical marine design considerations for steel and concrete structures, soil/structure interaction and marine environmental loading;
  • Experience with Feasibility Studies, Preliminary Engineering, Detailed Engineering
  • Possess project management skills and have experience in successfully delivering marine infrastructure projects;
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative approach;
  • Fluent in English AND French for the Quebec role with excellent written and oral communication.
