This position can be located at the Regional Office in Smithers, BC and will provide outreach on a regular basis to the Vanderhoof Office.

Compensation: $42.15 - $51.28

Job Summary:

The Physiotherapist is a member of an interdisciplinary team which serves children from birth to 19 years of age. The therapist’s role with young children, families and caregivers is one of facilitation and prevention using his/her specialized skills and knowledge to assist the child and family in their development in the home and other community settings. The PT also provides assessment, consultation, and program recommendations to parents and teachers in the school setting. It is the goal of therapists to work with school personnel and parents to enable the students to achieve their maximum potential and independence in all areas of life. This position is located at the Smithers Regional Office with outreach to Vanderhoof on a regular basis.


Our Team:

The Physiotherapist will join our organization's Pediatric Therapy Network, for peer support and individual/team mentorship. They will also have access to professional development opportunities, resource sharing through specialized equipment libraries and work with specialized Provincial therapeutic teams to serve the many communities of our service delivery area. Our Team is energized, enthusiastic and dedicated to ensuring children, youth and their families receive the highest quality of services from the Northwest Child Development Centre


Qualifications:

Ø Masters’ degree in Physiotherapy or Rehabilitation Medicine or equivalent.

Ø Current Membership with the College of Physical Therapists of B.C. or The College of Health and Care Professionals of British Columbia (June 24, 2024).

Ø A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle is required.

Ø Criminal Record Check Clearance required.


Skills:

Ø Experience working directly with children or youth with support needs, their families, and other professionals.

Ø Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Ø Commitment to a family-centered, community-based team approach to service delivery
