Job Responsibilities


As an Information Security Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our organization’s information assets. Your focus will be on maintaining a secure environment, detecting and responding to threats, and ensuring the resilience of our systems. Here are your key responsibilities:


Security Operations Management:


  • Monitor and Respond: Continuously monitor security alerts, incidents, and anomalies within our network. Swiftly respond to security incidents, breaches, or vulnerabilities.
  • Incident Handling: Develop and execute incident response plans. Investigate security incidents, assess impact, and coordinate remediation efforts.
  • Ethical Hacking: Conduct regular security assessments, including penetration testing and vulnerability assessments, to identify weaknesses and recommend improvements.
  • System Upgrades: Stay abreast of security trends and best practices. Regularly upgrade security systems to stay competitive in the ever-evolving threat landscape.


Collaboration and Communication:


  • Relationship Building: Cultivate strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including IT, development, and business units. Collaborate effectively to enhance security posture.
  • Clear Communication: Provide transparent communication regarding system status, downtime, and changes. Keep stakeholders informed about security-related matters.


Technical Expertise:


  • Security Architecture: Analyze existing security systems and propose enhancements. Ensure alignment with industry standards and compliance requirements.


Technical Skills: Proficiency in the following tools and technologies:


  • Microsoft 365 (M365) Security Stack
  • Qualys Vulnerability Management, Detection, and Response (VMDR)
  • Zscaler Zero Trust Network Access (ZPA) and Internet Access (ZIA)


Job Requirements


To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:


Education:

  • High school diploma required; college/university degree preferred.


Experience:


  • At least 5 to 10 years of experience in system support, with a focus on security operations.
  • Familiarity with current security risks, protocols, and best practices.


Skills:


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Willingness to work on-call during security breaches or emergencies.
  • Ability to work both independently and under close supervision.


Certifications (Nice to Have):


  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Any Microsoft Security Certifications
