Company Description


WriteAway is a startup developing an AI pen for students who want to improve their grades/study habits by enhancing focus and swapping screen time for study time. The user asks a questions and the pen responds with an AI-generated text response projected onto a surface.


Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement firmware for the ESP32-PICO-D4 microcontroller.

- Integrate and program various components including projectors, microphones, and Bluetooth modules.

- Assemble and solder electronic components on PCBs for prototyping.

- Troubleshoot and debug hardware and firmware issues.

- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure successful project development.


Requirements:

- Proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems.

- Experience with ESP32 series microcontrollers and their development tools.

- Hands-on experience with soldering and prototyping electronic devices.

- Knowledge of communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, BLE, Wi-Fi).

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.


Location: Vancouver, BC.

Hybrid: Most of the work is done remotely but you will need to solder the components onto PCBs and prototype.

Compensation: Equity, around 5-10% of the company.

Part-time: As we are an early stage startup, you might need to work on something else on top of this for a salary.
