Required Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience as Senior/Lead Data Engineer with a focus on Azure and Databricks
  • 5+ years of experience in coding with Terraform, Python and Pyspark
  • 3+ years of experience designing and implementing scalable data solutions in Azure
  • Experience leading the design of data ingestion frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with Azure PaaS (products as a service): Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse, Event Hub, APIM, Azure Key Vault, Azure SQL
  • Understanding of the backup, disaster recovery, and data recovery strategy and execution with the above services
  • Experience with Azure infrastructure such as cloud security and networking and experience in implementing best practices

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Experience in building a 360 view of a customer

Job Description

Insight Global is on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Data Engineer to join the data organization of one of Canada's largest insurance companies. This pivotal role involves providing hands-on engineering leadership, focusing on the design and construction of data products and platforms that manage and store extensive datasets.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design and development of resilient data products and platforms.

- Ensure data products are secure, accessible, and compliant with governance policies.

- Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive information.

- Upskill team members in data tools and technologies.

- Oversee the implementation of new data tools.

- Take end-to-end ownership of building, deploying, and maintaining data products.
