We’re looking for an experienced and diverse Mechanical Outage Planner to join our client’s team and take charge of planning and execution for an industrial Turnaround in Sherwood Park, AB. Join a leading organization and support their very important Turnaround through to the end of June


Key Responsibilities:

🔹 Lead outage scope planning and execution

🔹 Develop work scopes and create detailed planning packages

🔹 Manage contractor field activities, ensuring safety & quality compliance

🔹 Provide daily schedule updates and coordinate project timelines

🔹 Support the Management of Change (MOC) process

What You need to Bring to the Team:

✔ 10+ years’ experience in maintenance and/or engineering disciplines

✔ 5+ years as a Mechanical Planner

Strong knowledge of P&IDs, piping isometrics, and industry codes

✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SAP, and Primavera P6

✔ QC experience preferred (CWI, API 510, or API 570)

✔ Willing to work a wide variety of scheduled days and hours. Travel may be required as much as 25-45% depending on projects

Key Elements include:

  • Safety oriented and unwilling to compromise on safety rules, processes, and procedures
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and planning skills. Strong leadership abilities.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work requires working from heights, climbing fixed ladders, and stairs, etc.
  • Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
  • Understands quality standards as outlined by company/industry guidelines/standards.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains a professional and cooperative attitude when interacting with colleagues, supervisors, management, support staff, program participants, and business associates.
  • Approaches problem-solving and conflict resolution with a positive and constructive mindset.
  • Keeps composure in high-pressure situations.
  • Embraces and fosters a team-oriented work environment.


Also required including PPE:

  • Hard hat, Safety Glasses, FR clothing, steel toe boots
  • Valid Canadian work visa/permit
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Local to area is preferred
