Robert Half's client is seeking an IT Data Manager to provide technical leadership across a broad range of data analysis functions including data modeling, structured query language (SQL), data quality, data profiling, extract-transform load (ETL), metadata enrichment and management, data provenance and lineage, report design and other specialized data management functions.


  • Will lead a team of technology Data Analysts and Data Specialists responsible for the build, design, development, testing, execution, and quality assurance of Data Information Management solutions.
  • Manage the team in driving out the technology strategic roadmap, including the introduction of big data technologies, advanced analytics, and data modeling.
  • Oversee the delivery of data products in report and presentation formation to executive leadership.
  • Make data consumption on-demand and transparent and provide fit for purpose services - reports, analytics, and models. Reduce the cost per consumption of data while improving quality.
  • Responsible for gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data to support data-driven decision-making within the organization.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to integrate data, charts, graphs, and written content into presentations, simplifying complex concepts for a diverse audience.
  • Accountable for the development, adoption and ongoing evolution of a best-in-class reporting and/or BI capability and may deliver on ad-hoc projects as assigned.
  • Provide specialized end to end BI support and analytics for the business and/or projects/initiatives.
  • Create complex and comprehensive BI reporting packages and dashboards utilizing data infrastructure, localized datamarts and external data sources
  • Proficiency in Atlassian Confluence, including a strong understanding of spaces, templates, macros, and permissions. Develop web applications and user interfaces using React, HTML, and CSS, ensuring a responsive and seamless user experience. Integrate Confluence with other Atlassian products and third-party applications as needed for seamless workflow.
  • Responsible for tracking and managing KPIs, KRIs, Operational Metrics, and OKRs to measure and drive organizational performance.
  • Responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining high-quality, visually compelling PowerPoint presentations and reports for use in corporate communications, executive briefings, and partners presentations.


Requirements:

  • University degree
  • 7+ years Data Analyst experience
  • Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Tableau)
  • Experience with programming, data transformation, and database technologies, e.g. MS Access, SQL Queries, Python, Azure, Data Validation, Data Analytics, Power Suite
  • Advanced Excel experience i.e. data modeling, lookups, arithmetic formulas, pivot tables, charts, dashboards, VBA macros, power query, power pivot, etc.
  • Experience with Enterprise Risk Management Frameworks including regulatory reporting
  • Financial Industry experience
  • Experience analyzing large amounts of data and extracting insights
  • Experience with Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting
  • Information Security or technology risk and controls background, Big Four experience a plus


This is a 4 month, contract to hire position that will be working onsite 2 days per week in Toronto.
