Vancouver, Canada New Value Solutions Full time

New Value Solutions, a national IT consulting company, is seeking an IT Infrastructure Lead to help our client coordinate, oversee, provision and verify the implementation of the Wired, Wireless and DAS in a tower that is being constructed in Phase 1 for a large redevelopment project. This role requires strong coordination skills, meticulous planning and onsite hands-on installation visits.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversee risk, issue, and scope change management processes related to the deliverables.
  • Report project status and progress at scheduled points to the Project Director and IT Delivery Manager.
  • Wi-Fi: Oversee the end-to-end deployment of Wireless Access points.
  • Review the design and access point placements within the floorplan.
  • Prepare, label and hand-off access points along with antennas to the installer.
  • Verify and resolve installation location with the design.
  • DAS:
  • Facilitate DAS vendor on the installation of DAS AP and antennas.
  • Act as primary onsite contact for DAS contractor for issue resolution with the builder.
  • Facilitate and work with Carrier to complete installation of head-end equipment and antennas.
  • Wired: Oversee the onsite installation and provisioning of wired network.
  • Work with the client to configure and package switches for deployment in TRs.
  • Act as main contact and coordinator for switch port assignment process between the cabling contractor and network engineers.
  • Investigate and clarify requirements for VLAN for devices in-scope.
  • Early deployment projects:
  • Design and coordinate vendors and internal stakeholders for installation of USB adapters, provisioning of network ports and installation of RTLS equipment.
  • Provide ad-hoc subject matter expertise to other related and aligned capital initiatives as requested by the Executive Director, Capital Facility Projects, Solutions or the Project Director:
  • Establish and improve processes, templates, approach, communication, and issue resolution.
  • Lead engagement with third parties (suppliers, client, Design Builder).
  • Lead the verification of the Wireless solutions.


Requirements:


  • 4+ years of experience working on large scale IT infrastructure projects in a lead or project management role.
  • Basic Computer setup and networking knowledge.
  • Demonstrated management experience in planning for, or implementing, IT Infrastructure solutions.
  • Ability to take lead in an ambiguous, changing/reactionary priorities environment.
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize and structure clear and unclear workloads.
  • Open to rolling up your sleeves, applying subject matter understanding and to dive into the details to uncover optimal solutions to application design, implementation and hand-over sustain problems.
  • Effective communication skills, and ability to interact with internal and external partners.
  • Experienced in end user interaction including requirement elicitation, analysis, and solution design.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment.
  • Subject matter understanding in Division 27 systems.
  • Formal project management training or certification.
  • Experience working on Design-Build construction projects.
  • Experience working on redevelopment projects in healthcare.
  • Experience working with healthcare users.

The hourly rate range for this position is $55 to $85, with the final rate based on consultant experience and fit for the role.
