The job will involve researching the latest lightweight policy enforcement software methods, working with Telesat's highly talented network security team to build models/simulations, etc., of architecture choices, and learning how to write good requirements and associated documents. The candidate is expected to be proficient in software coding and research and highly desirable some existing knowledge of network security.
Main Responsibilities:
Research lightweight policy enforcement SW for real-time embedded ARM processors such as the ARM on the Raspberry Pi Documents and assists the Network Security team using " Model-Based Systems Engineering" (MBSE) by creating or editing diagrams in tools and information system assets, identifying and solving potential and actual security problems. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Qualifications / Skills:
MBSE tools experience is highly desired, such as with tools like Capella, UML, Enterprise Architect, and Rational Rose. Network security studies. Excellent Research and Problem-solving skills. Some knowledge of Information security policies. Desired knowledge of Routers, hubs, and switches, especially for MPLS. Some understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports and protocols, traffic flow, system administration, OSI model, defense-in-depth, and common security elements. Working in Teams with excellent communication skills in English and nice to have some French. Very Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficient in embedded SW development, Raspberry Pi, Beagle Bone, etc., in C, C++, and Python.
Education, Experience:
Completed 3rd year of Computer science, or Engineering with computer science courses, or It is a bonus if you have advanced certifications, but they are not required, such as SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, CISSP or CASP, and/or SIEM-specific training and certification.
