DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Field Service Power Generation Technician to join our Distribution Business in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

This position requires both mechanical and electrical repair and maintenance abilities with some great interpersonal skills. Working hours are from 7h30am to 4h00pm Monday-Friday. Some traveling in the northern region is to be expected.

On call rotation is necessary

5000$ Sign-on bonus

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Diagnoses and completes less complex repairs to generators and components at the customers site.

Engages customers in a courteous and professional manner. Anticipates and ensures prompt and efficient attention to customer needs.

Applies the use of specialized tools and follows documented procedures and policies to diagnose and complete less complex repairs, including identifying and preparing required parts and tools.

Performs preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on power generation products in the field.

Escalates unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor

Completes required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens.

Completes training in line with skill and business requirements.

Maintains service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation.

Ensure adherence to all relevant Health Safety & Environmental policies, procedures and legislation and reports any issues / incidents to site management and to their supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

Red seal certification in Heavy duty mechanics

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products and electrical repair.

Intermediate level field service work experience.

Customer service experience.

High Voltage / Low Voltage experience.

Current relevant electrical certification

Locally valid driving permit This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience:

Minimal level of workshop related experience required.

High Voltage/ Low Voltage experience

Proficient with electrical and electronic troubleshooting

Must be willing and able to have flexibility with work hours

Must be willing and able to travel to remote locations via charter and commercial flights - often smaller aircraft

Solid computer skills such as web based diagnostics, research, Word, Outlook, and Excel

Previous power generation technical knowledge and hands on experience would be an asset

The ideal candidate would possess an M limited electrical license (for power generation services)
