We’re looking for an Electrical Project Manager - SBB to join our Capital Projects team for the Strand Base sector. Tolko’s three OSB divisions are located in Meadow Lake, SK, High Prairie, AB and Slave Lake, AB.

Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:

The successful candidate has completed a diploma or undergraduate degree in electrical engineering or related discipline and/or has obtained relevant industry certifications or designations. A Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset. Previous Industrial Experience. Familiar with Allen Bradley products, VFD Drives, Soft Starters, and HMI’s. Experience with PLC 5 and Control Logix PLC platforms. Experience with communication network protocols: ethernet, DeviceNet, ControlNet. Proficient in computer and Microsoft Office software packages. Experience working with high and low voltages. Demonstrated supervisor abilities. Ability to manage midsize projects and day-to-day work planning. Experience following electrical schematics. Good track record with troubleshooting skills. A proven safe work record.

In your role you will:

Be able to work from your home office anywhere in Alberta when not traveling to site. Travel regularly based on project schedules to the three SBB mills in your company provided vehicle. Approximately % of your time will be spent traveling. Define, design, develop, and commission plant-wide control systems for industrial projects in North America, ranging from greenfield installations to plant modernization. Design the control system’s technical specifications (control narratives, functional descriptions), system architecture drawings, PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI configuration (Rockwell Software, Wonderware, Ignition). Prepare the technical portion of the detailed control engineering scope, inspection and test plans, construction scope of work, and commissioning plans. Communicate with project stakeholders to resolve technical issues across all phases of the project. Provide construction supervision and leading commissioning and start-up activities during control system implementation. Exemplify a strong commitment to quality and engineering design processes. Utilize project management tools for managing budget, project schedules, and scope of various sized projects. Provide support to the project management with team scope change requests, and project estimations. Provide support to during system failures or challenges during commissioning phases. Work with the electrical team at the facility and will be responsible for helping to maintain and improve the PLC and other automation control systems while ensuring that all work is completed in a safe reliable manner.
