RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
The Garzia lab investigates the molecular basis of metastasis and therapy resistance in pediatric solid cancers such as sarcomas and brain cancers. The lab uses genomics on patient samples followed by in vivo functional genomics models, our goal is to prevent or cure metastasis in these cancer types.

ROLE:

•Lead and participate in research projects,
•Reviews and evaluates research findings,
•analyze results, prepares reports and manuscripts,
•Laboratory management: the candidate will be in charge of product/equipment ordering as well as for the good organization and maintenance of the laboratory,
•Assist members of the laboratory with their research projects,
•Provide training to new recruits,
•Oversee good day-to-day practices in the laboratory,
•Meet and report regularly to the PI.

General Duties

•Maintenance of tissue biobank following lab’s SOPs.
•In vitro and in vivo molecular biology experiments to support current projects: mouse and human tumor tissue preparation for flow-cytometry, imaging, WB, and advanced NGS (snRNAseq, ChIP-Seq).
•Data analysis skills are considered advantageous.

Field of Study: Molecular biology, biochemistry, medicine, cell biology.
•Work Experience: 0-6 months

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
•Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
