We are seeking Occupational Therapists in the following areas of Durham Region (Pickering, Ajax, Whitby, Oshawa, Bowmanville, Uxbridge, Newcastle)

We are currently seeking qualified Registered Occupational Therapists  to provide services to our Adult clients within the community. This position is a flexible role, and the working hours range from part-time to full time depending on your desired client caseload size.

OT Responsibilities:

Provide ministry funded, community based Occupational Therapy services within the client’s place of residence Provide occupational therapy assessment (through interview, standardized and informal assessment techniques) in the areas of home safety, home modifications, equipment prescription, fall prevention, mobility, cognition, stroke, etc Develop and implement best practice and evidence-based occupational therapy intervention in collaboration with clients/caregivers Provide education to client/caregivers and link to community agencies/resources when appropriate Complete funding applications as applicable Complete and maintain documentation related to assessment findings, care plans, progress and discharge summaries according to CAR, the referral source and COTO standards

Requirements:

Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario(required) Experience in working with in a community setting is preferred but will consider new graduates Ability to work independently and as part of an inter-professional team Ability to prioritize, manage self-scheduling and meet reporting deadlines Excellent oral, written skills and report writing Proficiency with computers Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Reliable transportation is required for this position
