Our Ideal Candidate
Allnorth is currently looking for a Construction Field Inspector to work out of our St. John's, Gander, Clarenville and Corner Brook offices, our teams also provide services to Labrador portion of the province and this position will be required to attend to these projects as well. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for maintaining project continuity, fostering client relations, overseeing day to day site activities and providing detailed daily observations & record keeping services for the installation of all development related works. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to accurately communicate project related information to clients, contractors, municipal staff, or any other project stakeholder as required.
A Day in the Life
Manage and communicate with consultants/contractors while maintaining an effective working relationship Maintain documentation and photographic record of inspected work and complete Daily Inspection Reports Monitor nonconformance to the contract documents and creates a nonconformance report for tracking Track cost and schedule data, while also verifying contractor’s labour, equipment and materials use, and participate in review of contractor’s change requests or claims Monitor the quality of work, identifying deficiencies in materials and workmanship and elevating as necessary; Ensure compliance with the contract documents during construction Act as the client and provincial representative for adherence to OH&S safety protocols.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Diploma in Engineering, or Building Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field or related construction experience 3+ years experience on civil infrastructure projects 3+ years of experience with projects involving Field Inspection and writing reports (daily inspection reports) Effective verbal/ written communication and presentation skills.
