As a Senior Modern Host Systems Developer, you will help our clients with existing COBOL code bases by conducting & leading small teams on the following activities:

1.Maintenance and improvement of code in place on existing host systems.

2.Migration to Java (or C#) running on cloud technologies. 

3.Integration to and from mainframe hosted code. 

You will leverage cloud technologies and DevOps practices in concert with your host technology knowledge. Contributing to the conceptual architecture and solution design, you will ultimately implement host modernization solutions that enable client specification and take the value of their software investments into the future. Together we do what matters.

  

What you’ll do

•Leverage your COBOL programming skills to enable maintenance and migration of mainframe (Z/OS) applications, ensuring they meet business requirements and adhere to technical best practices.

•Leverage your knowledge of JCL and scheduling technologies like CA-7 to enable script execution.

•Integrate your work as part of a larger team, leveraging ITSM tools.

•Adopt agile practices to quickly identify and address issues in COBOL-based applications, facilitating rapid iteration and continuous improvement.

•Demonstrate strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

•Foster an environment of accountability, quality, commitment, growth, and innovation.

 

Skills and experiences

•Several years of hands-on COBOL development experience

•Experience working with JCL and host scheduling tools like CA-7

•Experience with ITSM and related tooling

•Bonus if experience includes COBOL migration work from to languages like Java/C#

•Bonus if experience includes hosting/integrating solutions on Microsoft Azure 

•Bonus if exposure to mainframe integration tooling like SNA/HIS/BizTalk
