Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

The Opportunity: Equitable is growing We're searching for several Actuarial Analysts or Associates to join our team. This position will have the opportunity to learn about the products in the Group Benefits division reporting to the respective director.

What you will be doing:

Financial Management role:

Business Plan – Be a key player: build & refine models, discuss results with leaders Analyze monthly and quarterly business results, and prepare presentation deck Reinsurance Management – oversee monthly settlements, and regular treaty reviews Provide financial skillset to pharma initiatives, drug analysis, and industry pooling Calculate and implement Salesforce compensation Financial Insights for Business Leaders across multiple departments Support initiatives at both Group and company-wide levels Contribute to experience analyses and assumption reviews Provide data and analysis required for industry surveys Continuous improvement of processes and analytics

Pricing role:

Develop and maintain actuarial pricing models for all Group Products Support new product development – analyze results and make recommendations Analyze experience trends and implement pricing changes and assumption updates Provide data and analysis required for industry surveys, and drug pooling Assess the pricing impact of different plan designs and provide recommendations. Participate in the regular review of our pricing rates, methodology and guidelines, ensuring competitiveness while maintaining profitability Collaborate closely with Group Underwriting to recommend pricing adjustments to support Quotes and Renewals


What you will bring:

Working knowledge of the Windows environment, including knowledge of spreadsheet manipulation, databases and word processing applications Sound computer software knowledge, particularly in MS Excel, MS Access and VBA. SQL and PowerBI knowledge are an asset Completing preliminary exams towards attaining ASA and FSA designation A strong focus on customer service with excellent communication skills both verbal and written The ability to work in a multi-tasking environment and meet deadlines Ability to apply mathematical and statistical concepts to real-world actuarial problems. Knowledge of Group Life and Health products is beneficial
