Mill Ridge, a local golf course in Chester, NS is currently seeking a Properties Foreman to assistant in the property operations of the golf course for the 2024 season.

Job Summary:

The Property Foreman under the direction of Golf Course Superintendent is responsible for the supervision of all activities that take place on site, overseeing the maintenance and care of the property grounds, including landscaping, irrigation systems, and equipment. This role involves coordinating with staff to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure safety of fellow employees Ensuring the effective and efficient use of personnel, materials, equipment, facilities, and time. Assisting in the resolution of change requests, material defects and equipment problems. Ensuring a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task. Recruiting and retaining staff Other duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience:

5 years’ experience working in a similar environment. Valid Class 5 driver’s license in good standingBasic knowledge of flowers and plants, their needs and how to care for themKnowledge of gardening tasks is preferred (pruning, planting, digging holes, weed control, etc)Must be a punctual and reliable team player, and able to work without supervisionMust be willing and able to learn how to operate safely motorized tools, including side-by-sidesWorking safely is a condition of employment Strong management, delegation, planning and leadership skills. Strong communication and problem-solving skills High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning. Ability to operate required equipment safely and responsibly. Able to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
