Under the general supervision of the Manager of Case management Services, the Case Manager (Floater) is responsible for working closely with job seekers to conduct intakes, assess service suitability, develop and implement action plans, and secure employment. The Case Manager (Floater) will step in to provide coverage support to the WorkBC catchment during times of high client demand and/or staffing shortages caused by role vacancies and/or staff vacations.

The Case Manager (Floater) position in unique in that it will provide services and support to the WorkBC catchment when coverage is required, such as during vacations and role vacancies and will not oversee a caseload on a long-term, ongoing basis. The Case Manager (Floater) will focus on intakes, action plan follow-up, and employment placements and will contribute to the overall goals and objectives of the project. The position is part of a multi-agency team who supports linking job seekers to employment and training opportunities, while upholding the YWCA's mission and values. 

What you’ll be doing 

Provide temporary caseload coverage (follow ups and meetings with job seekers) during times of high client demand and/or role vacancies. 

Provide client service and resolve issues both in person and in a virtual service delivery environment 

Administer Client Needs Assessments and Disability-Related Employment Needs Assessments to reduce job seekers wait times 

Assess job seekers needs and develop an individualized action plan to meet goals

Coach, mentor and support job seekers to achieve sustainable employment including addressing any barriers and building on job seekers strengths 

Work with individuals with complex barriers and a broad range of cultural backgrounds; and 

Collect employment details and documentation from clients when sustainable employment is achieved 

Accurate and timely reporting on job seekers progress, and milestones using databases,

Maintain an organized and current client filing system including managing follow up 

Keep abreast of labour market trends, employment issues, community resources, job training, and employment opportunities

Work as part of a multi-faceted, multi-agency team to deliver a comprehensive employment program designed to meet individual needs of clients 

Connect job seekers to needed employment programming, community resources and wraparound supports 

Ensure file consistency and documentation

Connect job seekers with internal workshop schedule 

Ensure safety plan and basic needs are in place and work with job seekers to refer to counselling, community resources, and any other appropriate referrals as appropriate 

Familiar with and able to work with job seekers using the latest technology

Adhering to onsite Health and Safety Procedures 

Other duties as required 

What you’ll need: 

A post-secondary certificate, degree or diploma in a relevant field or combination of relevant experience and education (e.g., career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education or human resources management.) 

1-2 years of Case Management and/or employment counselling experience is required

Passion for helping job seekers achieve their goals through providing holistic supports 

Knowledge of community resources and the labour market 

Works well independently and as part of a team 

Ability to communicate effectively with clients in person and virtually with proven ability to document progress notes 

Demonstrated skills with all Microsoft applications (i.e. Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams) 

Able to show initiative, flexibility and demonstrate a positive attitude towards change and work 

A valid clear criminal record check (including working with vulnerable populations) is required.

Pay Rate: $34.33 per hour
