Tomlinson is currently seeking a Shop Foreman for our Heavy Equipment Shop. This person would be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of staff, assisting with customer issues, assisting Parts and Administrative Clerks with ordering parts and the completion of work orders, and ensuring a safe and productive workplace at all times.

Location: 5151 Albion Road, Ottawa, ON

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be a safety leader with a solid safety behavior and have a strong background in leadership Ensure safety procedures and standards are met at all times Maintaining a safe and clean repair shop and yard Scheduling tasks to technicians Ability to train and mentor staff Supervising the day to day operations Setting up the floor space to maximize productivity Ensuring quality repairs are completed Liaise with Manager of Garages and other operations personnel on the status and scope of repairs needed Create work orders & review work orders before closing off

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Ability to work indoors and outdoors Monday to Friday, may need to work extra hours when needed Garage Hours of operations 6:00am - 5:00pm

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

5+ years of supervisory experience Knowledge of the Health & Safety Act within the Industrial Field Valid Driver’s License Strong attendance and punctuality Mechanically inclined Ability to operate equipment is considered an asset Strong customer service experience Planning and organizational skills
