Your Role: Receive all incoming and outgoing mail from couriers/head office personnel and ship to specific destinations as specified; Ensuring staff provide the correct filled out forms and details for shipments to be handled; Open/sort incoming mail and distribute to appropriate department; record courier deliveries and delivery internally Prepare mail/packages for all stores Produce labels for Express Post Arrange shipment of various packages and items with outside couriers and carriers Track shipments and provide details for shipping enquiries; maintain logs and paperwork for follow up and tracking purposes Internally deliver paper and cases of water when requested; Daily cleaning of shipping area, mailroom and envelope room; envelope room to be stocked at all times; Maintain spreadsheets indicating stock supply for mailroom and envelopes Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all mailroom equipment. The occasional request for overtime may be required to complete special projects Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills & Experience: Completion of Grade 12 General office experience is an asset Computer literacy and MS Office experience is compulsory along with typing skills Ability to work under deadlines/pressure is essential Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments at once while adhering to strict deadlines; adaptability to any incoming tasks Must be detail-conscious while maintaining a high degree of accuracy – sharp attention to detail is mandatory Ability to work independently or in a team environment; collaboration and time management skills required Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of internal and external customers Must be highly-motivated with strong organizational and prioritizing skills Must be able to sort, distribute, and deliver mail Experience with mail sorting and postage meter machines is a bonus Must be able to lift packages, boxes and tubs of mail of a minimum of 40 lbs throughout the day. Must bend, stoop and kneel frequently. There is heavy lifting involved with this position, along with standing for long periods throughout the day. Team player; friendly, courteous and the willingness to go the extra mile to complete the job Integrity, flexibility and initiative are expected.
