As part of the UR International Recruitment team as the Recruitment Specialist, you’ll be the driving force behind undergraduate student recruitment, guiding applicants and representatives through every step of the journey with precision and enthusiasm.

Reporting to the Manager of International Recruitment and Marketing, the primary responsibility of this position is the recruitment of international undergraduate students to the University of Regina. As a member of UR International, this position works collaboratively with various departments and faculties, Canadian and international partners, government agencies, Educational Consultants, high school counselors, universities, colleges, prospective students and their families to seek and encourage applications to the University. As part of your role, you will conduct conversion strategies and acts as the primary contact for prospective students and their representatives

What You’ll Do: Promote the University of Regina through a broad array of recruitment activities and mediums; Meet with students in domestic and international high schools; Participate in various international recruitment events in Canada and internationally; Connect with conditionally accepted students at the University of Regina; Support the development, delivery, and assessment of recruitment plans; Conduct research on international market trends to stay up-to-date on constantly changing landscape of international education; Advise applicants on program/faculty choices as it relates to their academic credentials and personal interests; Serve as a liaison with other educational institutions and educational consultants to develop relationships, knowledge, and collaborative recruitment efforts on behalf of the University; Prepare and maintain recruitment records; Conduct market research and analyze student data and trends and make recommendations that guide future recruitment strategies; Assist with all University conversion and recruitment activities as required; Assist in coordinating marketing materials for recruitment initiatives; Conduct several international recruitment missions each year involving extensive traveling across various time zones for extended periods each year; Why Join Us? Combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in the Role: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate in second language is preferred; Strong ability to create rapport and connect with students, parents, university administrators, educational consultants, and high school counselors from diverse backgrounds; Knowledge of the Canadian university system and international undergraduate student admission criteria; Excellent event planning, organization and research skills; Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced and diverse environment; Demonstrated ability for building a connection with the international student community; Demonstrated awareness of cultural differences and has an understanding of how to connect and convey a message to audiences from various cultural backgrounds; Demonstrated ability to be a leader, self-starter, working independently; Ability to adapt to ever-changing circumstances while traveling; Ability to convey a message and establish trust with a wide range of individuals; Demonstrated ability to remain patient and calm under high pressure; Must have international experience and knowledge of the University of Regina policies, procedures, services and academic programs; Experience and knowledge of marketing principles, web recruitment tools and social media; Knowledge of University databases, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access; This position requires the incumbent to travel extensively within Canada and internationally for a period ranging from one week, to 3 months at a time; Must be able to lift, and carry heavy boxes of marketing materials domestically and internationally;
