Position Overview
As Senior Principal ML Engineer on the team, you will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, and delivery of data-driven solutions to significant business challenges across a program of work. Senior Principal ML Engineers operate at a programmatic scale, taking responsibility for significant technical solutions and coordinating delivery with multiple stakeholder teams.
Reporting to the Senior Manager on the team, this role combines the direct management of a number of Machine Learning Engineers with hands-on technical skills.

As a Sr Principal MLE, you will provide technical guidance and thought leadership for the team and across the company. We emphasize an agile, hands-on, and technical approach at all levels of the team. As a group, we want to continuously improve our Machine Learning as well as our knowledge of trends and techniques relevant to our areas.

Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, develop, and manage less-experienced members of the team to deliver key ML-powered features for our Digital Customer Platform
You will develop a program of work, partnering with stakeholders, to solve strategic business objectives across a range of horizons
Translate business requirements and objectives into problems that can be solved with a combination of Data, Statistics, and Machine Learning
You will design and implement Machine Learning capabilities that improve Autodesk's eCommerce & Customer platforms
You will perform statistical and data analysis and exploration to generate datasets for model training and development
Collaborate with other members of the team to reach better solutions, and to position our team at the cutting edge of technology and ML practice
Minimum Qualifications
MS or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, or related field We also welcome applicants from non-traditional ML backgrounds
5+ years of applicable work experience in ML
2+ years managing or leading an ML team
Proficiency with the Python Machine Learning stack, e.g. Pandas, etc
Knowledge of experimental design and analysis of results
Demonstrate experience with applying Machine Learning, including both Deep Learning (PyTorch) and Classical ML (Scikit-Learn)
Demonstrate experience with leading Machine Learning teams in deploying and improving ML features in production
Demonstrate experience working in cross-functional teams to deliver ML solutions at scale
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Large Language Models, especially in the context of interactive dialog systems and chatbots (RAG, Generative AI, Conversational Agents)
Experience deploying systems that use NLP such as Information Retrieval (IR), Recommender Systems (RecSys), or other NLP Applications
SQL and experience with big data technology such as Hive, Presto, Glue, (Py)Spark, or Athena
Advanced software engineering skills including data structures and algorithms
Experience with data pipelines and model serving in AWS
Experience with MLOps, especially on AWS, at scale

Ce système est en production et permet déjà d'enrichir les conversations avec les clients et d'obtenir de meilleurs résultats. Parmi les autres exemples de notre travail, citons les modèles d'acheminement des demandes des clients vers les agents, la conception de scripts efficaces pour notre agent conversationnel d'assistance et la mesure de l'impact de l'automatisation sur les forums de clients.
Présentation du poste
En tant qu’ingénieur principal en apprentissage automatique au sein de l'équipe, vous serez responsable de la conception, de l'analyse et de la production de solutions basées sur les données pour répondre à des défis commerciaux importants dans le cadre d'un programme de travail. Les premier(ère)s ingénieur(e)s principaux(ales) en apprentissage automatique travaillent à l'échelle programmatique, en prenant la responsabilité de solutions techniques importantes et en coordonnant la livraison avec plusieurs équipes de parties prenantes.
Relevant du ou de la responsable principal(e) de l'équipe, ce rôle combine la gestion directe d'un certain nombre d'ingénieur(e)s en apprentissage automatique et des compétences techniques pratiques.

Responsabilités
Diriger, encadrer, développer et gérer les membres moins expérimentés de l'équipe afin de fournir des fonctionnalités clés fondées sur l’apprentissage automatique pour notre plateforme client numérique
Vous développerez un programme de travail, en partenariat avec les parties prenantes, pour atteindre des objectifs stratégiques dans divers horizons
Traduire les besoins et les objectifs de l'entreprise en problèmes pouvant être résolus grâce à une combinaison de données, de statistiques et d'apprentissage automatique
Vous concevrez et mettrez en œuvre des capacités d'apprentissage automatique qui améliorent les plateformes de commerce électronique et client d'Autodesk.
Vous effectuerez des analyses et des explorations statistiques et de données afin de générer des jeux de données pour la formation et le développement de modèles
Collaborer avec d'autres membres de l'équipe pour trouver de meilleures solutions et positionner notre équipe à la pointe de la technologie et des pratiques de l’apprentissage automatique
Exigences minimales
Maîtrise ou doctorat en informatique, statistique, ingénierie, économie ou domaine connexe Nous souhaitons également la bienvenue aux candidats issus de milieux non traditionnels en apprentissage automatique
Au moins cinq années d’expérience en apprentissage automatique
Au moins 2 ans de gestion ou de direction d'une équipe d’apprentissage automatique
Maîtrise de la pile Python Machine Learning, par exemple Pandas, etc.
Connaissance de la conception expérimentale et de l’analyse des résultats
Faire preuve d’expérience de l'application de l'apprentissage automatique, y compris l'apprentissage profond (PyTorch) et l’apprentissage automatique classique (Scikit-Learn)
Faire preuve d'expérience dans la direction d'équipes d'apprentissage automatique dans le déploiement et l'amélioration de fonctions d'apprentissage automatique en production
