As a Project Coordinator, you will work as part of the Parks and Open Spaces team within Infrastructure Services. Working in collaboration with other City representatives and consulting teams, you will coordinate on-site construction works and provide infrastructure delivery of public parks and open spaces. You will also be responsible for daily on-site inspections ensuring that project works are completed on time and on budget. Primary duties include:

On site activities adhering to the City's safety programs and policies and assisting others with compliance. Liaise in field and on-site with consultants, contractors, and other City representatives on construction projects within a wide range of park and open space developments. Participate in on-site project discussions and contribute to design development, procurement processes and contract administration. Coordinate the on-site efforts of consultants and contractors and act as The City's on-site representative to ensure that construction works comply with drawings, technical specifications, and City processes and approvals. Review project digital drawings, technical specifications and scope of work. Evaluate site conditions to identify potential project risks; strategize possible mitigations with project managers prior to procurement. Review and verify contractor submissions including documentation for invoicing. Adhere to applicable regulations and special project conditions and monitor environmental compliances. Prepare and maintain inspection documents and participate in on-site inspections for Construction Completion Certificates and Final Acceptance Certificate (CCC and FAC). Qualifications  A completed 2 year diploma or technical certificate in a related field in the construction industry with at least 5 years of experience in the landscape or building construction industry. Experience must include on-site inspections, construction coordination, basic project management and contract administration. A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalency) with no more than 6 demerits, or a Class 5 Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, and no current charges or suspension pending. Must be able to obtain a City of Calgary operator's permit. Current Intermediate First Aid certification (equivalent to Standard First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) level "C", and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)) is required by first day of work. Habitat or Wetland restoration experience would be an asset. Proficiency at technical reviews of digital drawings and knowledge of construction materials, practices and procedures are essential. Knowledge of The City's procurement process, development approval process, and an understanding of a wide range of landscape type projects will be an asset. The successful candidate will possess strong organization and time management skills, the ability to work with digital on-line forms and file management, a high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment in decision making.
