As a Journeyperson Electrician, you will be responsible for the service, repair, installation and operation of all electrical equipment, controls and components within the Calgary Housing Company portfolio. Primary duties include:

Receive and respond to service calls for preventative maintenance, demand repairs, contractor support, or troubleshooting for multiple types of equipment. Work with fire alarm systems, generators, power distribution, control systems, lighting, tenant power and other types of equipment and components. Assist with creation of project and contract scopes related to electric installations. Assist with oversight of recurring vendor work and projects related to electrical installations. Conduct electrical thermography scans to uncover hidden issues, anomalies, or hotspots that may indicate electrical problems. Conduct gas detection system testing and calibration. Qualifications  A completed Journeyperson Electrical certification or equivalent Interprovincial Red Seal, recognized by Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training. At least 3 years of directly related experience at the Journeyman level in multi-family residential service work including apartment towers, walk up apartment buildings, and row housing. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of all building system controls (both electric and pneumatic) as well as heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) systems is required. A valid Class 5 Driver¿s Licence (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits and no current suspensions or charges pending. Experience in servicing, installation, and testing of residential fire alarm systems will be considered an asset. The successful candidate must complete a Level 1 Thermography course. Preference may be given to applicants who have completed the Level 1 Thermography course. Working Conditions: This position will travel between residential buildings is exposed to noise, dirt, dust, limited spaces, bodily fluids, pests, hot and cold temperatures as well as electrical equipment and high voltage.
