This is a contract position for a Solutions Designer for our public sector client.
Work location: North York
Duration: Twelve Months
7.25 hours/day
This is a Hybrid role that requires the candidate to be onsite 3 days of the week (This is a mandatory requirement of the role and is non-negotiable outside of exceptional circumstances.)

Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership, coordination, and facilitation as required for the RLSO Maintenance and Support tasks
- Collaborate with RLSO solution vendor, project teams, solution architects, SDC/ITS, LTC IAST staff and third parties engaged to facilitate agreement on and acceptance of the solution for RLSO technical issues or enhancements
- Provide technical support coordination for QA and UAT testing, including engagement of IAST, Data MoD, RLSO support teams
- Provide support for cloud pipeline management and deployment support
- Contribute to the completion of deliverables (such as requirements document, solution concept document, infrastructure build) for RLSO support and Maintenance activities
- Lead the completion of the desktop package certification and installation
- Lead the maintenance of environment readiness (HW, SW, ENA connectivity, VPN, VDI access for Vendor and internal teams)
- Completion of all connections to all non-core and/or legacy components identified for the RLSO Maintenance and Support requirements
- Provide technical expertise in the release and deployment management, change management, problem and incident management, service level management, and service transition from project team to operations team and related processes on-going
- Provide Technical expertise in the management of changes from agreed scope, schedule or quality for infrastructure, network, and access updates through Change request process – provide technical assistance in the issuance of change requests and management approvals
- Provide technical expertise in the preparation and follow up on Change requests (CR’s/ PCR’s) and Change Request (CRQ’s) to manage RLSO changes
- Provide technical expertise in Code drops planning and management during project execution and stabilization period, CRQs, Implementation, Application Promotion plans and schedules, approvals, approval forms based on Project Schedule
- Providing input for CR’s preparation by the vendor and ensure the readiness of requested changes
Technical oversight of code/package drops and implementations into QA/UAT/Production Environments
- Provide Technical expertise and necessary activities in the management of the Hardware and Software Inventory to optimize the Azure hosting costs,(such as physical and virtual servers, network assets, software licenses)
- Provide technical expertise and execution of Software media preparation (licenses, renewals, media storage etc.)
- Provide technical expertise in the management and execution of software license renewals; initiation of the process, engagement of OPS partners to obtain information required for procurement, support
- Proactively identify risks related to RLSO technical solutions and propose mitigation plans. Provide technical expertise in the follow ups on risk mitigations strategy and issues/ actions execution
- Provide technical expertise in the completion of client-side elements of the solution, such as desktop package certification and installation and peripherals acquisition and setup

Qualifications
Applications Maintenance and support as well development based on Siebel CRM

- Hands on experience with Siebel configuration and customization, BIP Reports, Web Services, SQL, XML, DHTML/HTML, and JavaScript
- Basic knowledge of project management methodology (e.g. PMBOK), analytical tools and processes
- Knowledge and experience managing projects or part of the projects
- Senior Experience facilitating infrastructure verification
- Proven ability to reach agreements

Siebel Application Architecture, Siebel Remote Client, Siebel Administration

- Understanding of Siebel Application Architecture, hands on Siebel Administration, Siebel development environment setup, Web Services and workflows design, hands on Siebel Remote Client

Computing Environments and Toolsets

- Knowledge of, and experience with the following computing environments:
• Database: Oracle
• CRM: Oracle Siebel, Siebel Public Sector, Siebel Tools, Siebel Remote Client, Open
• UI, BIP, OPA
• Mid Tier: BPM
• Operating Platforms: Unix (Solaris, AIX),
• Web/Application Servers: WebLogic, Microsoft IIS
• Working experience with toolsets that support object-oriented languages and web application development including:
• Configuration/Builds: Harvest (or similar), Ant
• UML modeling tools
• Eclipse
• JUnit, Log4J
- Conceptual and analytical skills to assess and evaluate client needs and cost/benefit analyses for new technology requirements in planning and designing solutions
- Senior Experience with systems evaluation to assess the condition, technical performance, and capacity of existing systems and determine the need and feasibility of expansion, renovation, or replacement
- Senior experience from various areas of Service Management, such as Release and Deployment Management, Change Management, Configuration Management, Availability Management, Capacity Management, Problem and Incident Management, Service Level Management
- Experience building infrastructure for Oracle/Siebel/BPM/OCH/ORPOS and BIP stack
- Experience working with IBM AIX/Linux platform
- Experience working with Oracle Siebel CRM
- Experience and knowledge of performance turning and analysis
- Experience with PCI compliance audit
- Experience and knowledge with web services and IMS mainframe/IMS Connect
- Knowledge of technology developments, trends and new products to evaluated application to client short- and long-term technology requirements

User Interface Design

- Familiar with Siebel Open UI design principles and guidelines, Siebel Open UI customization and configuration
- Knowledge of leading-edge technologies design criteria, security and recovery procedures, preparation of technical specifications for installation, testing, and performance of integrated, multi-services systems; assess performance and capacity of the existing system making recommendations for improving performance, and developing technical documentation
- Client/Server System Implementation and Object-Oriented Analysis - 4
- Proven Experience with all stages of automated system implementation in large, complex, high-volume Client/Server systems, with online Mainframe Transactions.
- Experience with Object Oriented Analysis & Design (UML – Use Case/Class Sequence/ Collaboration/State
- Experience in structured methodologies for the development, design, implementation and maintenance of applications.

MTO RUSSB Architecture and OPS Policies and procedures

- Experience with MTO RUSSB architecture
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in working in accordance with policies and procedures of Ontario Public Service
- Senior Experience developing infrastructure design through LTC/ITS, Oracle and Microsoft organization
- Senior Experience in developing infrastructure solutions for providing secure access into OPS network to large offshore development teams
- Knowledge of GO-ITS 25 Security Standards and GO-ITS 56 Architecture Standards
- Knowledge of integrated networking technologies, mainframe, midrange server, enterprise storage, and SAN, and personal computer system technologies, related best practices, OPS directory/messaging standards, standard facilities infrastructure/ architecture management, facility service delivery processes, infrastructures policies, procedures, and direction, cost models and procurement processes, how to gather client business requirements; corporate I&IT information mandates, client information technology strategic plan, environment, and standards to:
• participate in the development of solutions;
• provide advice on short/long-term solution service development activities
- Knowledge and experience with ITS processes and procedures
- Knowledge and experience with OPS gating and architecture checkpoint process
- Knowledge and experience with OPS security processes and procedures (TRA, PCI)
- Experience with MTO Registration and Licensing system and integration or other similar government services
- Senior Experience developing and implementing infrastructure solutions for vendor-delivered applications within OPS including data conversion and migration
